Carolyn studied Fine Art at Central St Martin's and City and Guilds of London Art School, where she gained a Masters in Fine Art in 2002.
Her paintings have been exhibited at: Hicks Gallery, London; Affordable Art Fair, London; International Art consultancy, London; Ink Associates,Design Consultancy, London; Art and Architecture, Bristol; Pfizer, Sandwich; Art @ Axis, London; Mermaid Theatre, London; Thomas Eggar, London, and have been purchased by a wide variety of private and commercial collectors in the UK, US and Italy.
Carolyn initially pursued a career as a designer. After gaining a BA (Hons) Industrial Design in Manchester in 1978, she worked in London, firstly for GMW Partnership Architects and then BDP Architects before establishing Axis Design Europe, which grew into a successful design practice specialising in commercial interior design.
From 1994-97, Carolyn worked as a Sessional lecturer in Interior Architecture and Three Dimensional Design at University of Creative Arts in Kent while continuing to work as a designer, but also spending an ever greater part of her time working as a painter.
In 2007, Carolyn took the decision to dedicate herself to her painting . Her interest in the theories of space, its rhythms and its essence, which was a key factor in her career as a designer, continues to define the approach she has taken as a painter.
